What is IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR)?
IELTS One Skill Retake allows you to retake one of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking) if you need to improve in just one area. Most test takers may not get the scores they need first time, but if you feel you haven’t performed to your best in one area, IELTS One Skill Retake can help you get back on track. One Skill Retake will be available for both Academic and General Training IELTS tests.
Who accepts IELTS One Skill Retake?
The Australian Department of Home Affairs accepts IELTS One Skill Retake (OSR) for immigration purposes for certain subclasses. It is important to check the Department’s website to understand for which visa subclasses you can use IELTS One Skill Retake.

When will IELTS One Skill Retake be available?
IELTS One Skill Retake is available in Melbourne and will be available at more test centres in Australia in early 2023. The global launch is expected to follow afterwards.
How does IELTS One Skill Retake work?
The format and timing of the IELTS One Skill Retake test is the same as a normal IELTS test. You can save time by not needing to complete the other three skills. You will receive a new Test Report Form. You can choose whether you would like to use either your old or new Test Report Form.
When can I retake the IELTS test I took last week?
You need to book and sit the IELTS One Skill Retake test within 60 days of your original test. You must use the same ID for the One Skill Retake as you used for the original test sitting. The ID must still be current and valid at the time of taking your Retake.
