1. Higher maintenance funds for student visas
Effective 11 November 2025, international students applying under the UK Student visa route will need to show increased proof of financial support:
- £1,529 per month for students in London (up to 9 months)
- £1,171 per month for students outside London (up to 9 months)
Applications submitted before this date will still be assessed under current, lower proof of funds requirements.
2. Shorter Graduate Route Stay
Starting 1 January 2027, the stay for most bachelor’s and master’s degree holders will be shortened to 18 months. PhD graduates will continue to receive three years.
