Work while studying
If you have a Student Visa you may be able to work:
- Up to 20 hours a week during term time

If you are a Masters by research or PhD student, you may work:

Post-study work
Most international students who study in New Zealand are eligible for a post-study work visa once they’ve gained their qualification. You can apply for a post-study work visa as soon as you gain your qualification, and you may be able to work in New Zealand for up to three years after you graduate, depending on your study choices.
When your post-study work visa is coming to an end, you may be able to apply for a further work visa, or might even qualify for a residence visa.
Study and living costs | Tuition fees
- Annual fees for private primary and secondary schools start at about $25,000.
- Bachelor’s degrees tuition fees range from about $22,000 to $32,000.
- Master’s degrees tuition fees range from about $26,000 to $37,000, with higher fees for subjects such as medicine and veterinary science.
- International PhD students pay the same as New Zealand PhD students, which is about $6,500 to $9,000 per year for most subjects.
Living Costs
Living costs will depend on your lifestyle and which part of the country you live in. Some costs vary by region. If you will be studying in New Zealand for more than one year, you‘ll need to prove that you have at least $15,000 to support yourself for the first year. If you’re studying for less than a year, you must have at least $1250 for each month of study to contribute to your living expenses.

How to apply
Once you have selected the institution and course you wish you apply for, you are ready to formally apply. You’d need to fill in the application form and provide other relevant documentation as advised by Eduleader staff.
For the student visa, you will usually be required to provide a copy of your confirmation of place at the approved institution along with the financial documents. . Eduleader counsellors will go through in detail with you to check on all documentation and requirements.
